Rigden Lodge – Shambhala Mountain Center – Radiant heating and domestic solar hot water

The 20,100 square foot building is a mountain retreat lodge providing housing for program participants.  The radiant floor system design uses different fluid temperatures for groups of floor thermal resistances.  This allows more accurate control of floor temperature to stay within comfort parameters.  Radiant floors are used in special locations such as the meditation room, restrooms and shower areas, entries, and dining room.

The HVAC system includes custom wall radiators provide heat in most of the building with simple zone controls in each space.

A ventilated laundry area serves more than the users of this building.  A kitchen area provides a homey atmosphere.

The solar system provides primary heat for the domestic hot water needs and is backed-up by the high efficiency boilers.
