Sedalia Residence – Radiant and ground-coupled heat pump heating and cooling, Sedalia, Colorado

Mechanical and plumbing design plus solar and energy-conservation consultation for residence using ground-coupled heat pumps to provide heating and cooling through radiant floors, energy recovery ventilator for fresh air, whole house fans for moderate weather ventilation, and supplemental fan-coils for dehumidification.  System designed for future addition of solar domestic hot water and a future windmill.  Services included estimation of electrical energy use for optimization of PV panel energy use.  The project includes 3.4 kW of PV panels and many sustainable materials choices including SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels), high-performance windows, and floor insulation under the radiant panels.  Project won a McGraw-Hill Gold Hard Hat award in 2006.
