Silver Sage Village – Radiant heating, domestic solar hot water, and DX cooling

The project is a co-housing village in Boulder, Colorado.  The building area is approximately 32,000 square feet consisting of a half dozen different unit types amongst one main building and two separate duplex units.  The common areas include storage, kitchen, exercise, mechanical, common room, dining, crafts, and laundry spaces.  The project has a basement, main level, upper level, and a few loft spaces.  Mechanical design services include integration of solar thermal DHW system with the mechanical system.  The solar thermal provides heat for domestic hot water.

The HVAC system includes high efficiency condensing boilers to provide heating through baseboard radiation with radiant floors as a unit upgrade option, and split-system DX for optional cooling, fire sprinklers, and kitchen hood ventilation.
